Small Wins Build Big Wins - Even When You Can't See Them Yet

There have been moments in my business where I’ve sat back and wondered,

"What’s the fucking point? Is any of this even working?"

and,

"If it IS working, then is it really worth all this bloody effort?"

Ok, so when I get cross and frustrated, I get extra sweary. (In fact, I know it’s a personal red flag that there’s something I need to look at - but maybe that’s another blog for another day!)

So there I am, questioning myself. Because if success meant I had to do all the things I was being told I HAD to do, then was this entrepreneurship thing even worth the effort?

I LOVE what I do. It’s what lights me up and gets me in flow.

But seriously - the marketing I was being told I must do was swiftly leading me to believe that it just wasn’t worth it. Because if I needed to burn myself out doing what I hated just so I could spend time doing what I loved - then I was out.

So I sat in this anger and frustration… and if I’m honest, a smidge of desperation. And I resolved to find a way that worked - that didn’t rely on selling my soul to social media.

You see, over the years, I’d worked with different types of business coaches. Most promised me the answers I was looking for - the way forward, THE method that I’d been missing.

So I worked hard. I did everything they told me to do… even when the act of doing it literally had my body feeling sick.

But hard work has never been my problem. A tenacious drive to achieve was always a driving force (because when your worth is tied to your achievements, working hard is a default!).

It took me far too long to realise that working hard did not equal success - especially when I was pointing in the wrong direction to start with!

Maybe what I was missing was working in a way that worked for me.

Now, I can tell you - there’s a level of cultural conditioning in here that had me REALLY struggle with working to my strengths rather than working HARD. Because we are wired for the no pain, no gain mentality.

I would do the things that my heart knew I should do, but my mind kept overriding me - dragging me back down the paths I was told were the ‘right’ ones. Wasting so much time, effort, and, to be honest, making me a little jaded.

But, as I mentioned before, progress has never come from pushing. It’s come from aligning - and that has been a big revelation and shift for me.

Real momentum has come from first finding and pointing in the right direction. When I had the clarity of what I wanted, working out my ‘easiest’ route to get there became simpler. Then it was taking one step after another towards that goal.

If you’re sitting here wondering if this is even fucking worth it - here’s what I want you to know:

  • There’s no point in doing anything unless you know which way you want to be going
You can hustle all you like but if you’re facing south and want to go north you’ll never end up where you want to be.

  • Clarity doesn’t come from doing everything.
It comes from doing the right small things, with consistency to get you to your destination.
  • Small wins matter more than perfect ones.
Every tiny aligned action you take is building something - even if you can’t see it yet. Don’t dismiss them, love them!
  • If it feels lighter, it’s probably more aligned.
Heavy, resistant actions might seem impressive, but they rarely lead where you actually want to go.
  • You don't have to prove yourself through pain.
You’re allowed to build a business that feels good while you’re building it - not just after you’ve ‘earned’ it.
(See the point above - if you’re celebrating overcoming the heavy things that hurt, then you’re not on a successful path for you.)
  • Success isn’t a lightning bolt - it’s a slow, steady fire you tend every day.
Contrary to most noise on social media most people’s ‘overnight success’ is years in the making. It’s okay if most people don’t notice yours at first.

You’ll notice it. You’ll feel it. And that’s what counts.

You’re not failing.

You’re not a fuck up.

You’re just tired of forcing yourself into boxes you were never meant to fit in.

Building something real doesn’t look impressive at the start.

It looks like doubt.

It feels like tiny wins.

It looks like quietly backing yourself - even when you want to give up.

So, keep going - but do it your way this time!

You don’t have to burn yourself out to build something real.

You don’t have to force yourself into strategies that don’t fit.

You can build momentum that actually feels good to keep going with.

You just need the right starting point.
